Parent teacher conferencews with a book, penci, and cup holder

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018.  Please call or email your child’s teacher to set up a time to meet with them.  If you cannot meet on this night, another day and time that is more convenient can be arranged.

Would you like to support the teachers in your child’s school? There is a great way to do this.  Teachers would like to provide the latest technology for their classes.  These funds get paid for by generous donations from the community including parents and businesses.  Some of our teachers at E. Melvin Honeycutt Elementary would like their grants funded.  Below are the current grants written that need funding:

Red letters stating make up daysDue to Hurricane Florence, students in the Cumberland County Schools (CCS) lost several days of valuable classroom instruction. Earlier this week, the State provided CCS with calendar flexibility, which eliminated the requirement for CCS to make up all of the days missed because of the hurricane. However, in the interest of preserving instructional time for students, the Board voted to approve the following make-up days as full                                                                  instructional days for students. 

Traditional 10-Month Calendar
September 26, October 22, October 31, November 21, and December 21
